5/3/2009 Goodness knows why I called this page " Latest News" it should be called stale as old Buns News ,looks like I last updated it in 2004!!

Is the house finished? No.

My excuse is that Lou wanted things started in the family department, so I lost half the work force, and then had to go out to work myself.

So we have three bedrooms, but nothing is finished. No skirting boards, Waste downpipe not boarded in in lounge, no side to bath, few tiles on floor not glued in, cupboards not painted in our bedroom, nice plastic surrounds not on plug sockets, utility room not painted, and no neat ceiling. Window sills not tiled etc etc etc.

The good news is that we are finally in the top bedroom and after laying oak flooring in 3 other rooms, I have finally done one room properly with no gaps and no creaks when you walk on it ( Lou now wants me to re do the first floor, so lots of the stuff I didn't do properly will go in the bin).

As time goes on, we are beggining to look more and more like a gypsy camp. the good news is that we have got rid of the mobile home and the old Merc estate car, however we have inherited a lot of other junk, and my next job is to try and get someone with an organised brain to help me throw about three tons of crap away, sort out the barn, so it can be used sensibly, and not just a s a 4000 cubic meter cupboard, with everything chucked in it.

Then I'd like to finish the  patio, and get our bathroom useable!! What is interesting is that building materials and tools migrate from a finished room to the unfinished rooms. And now our bathroom is the only room not finished, so that's more stuff to chuck in  the Barn/cupboard when it gets  done!
